The VP, People & Culture position is responsible for all aspects of human resource (HR) management at Testlio. The role reports directly to the CEO of Testlio and is part of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This position has been opened in Q2 2024 as our 7-year VP, People & Culture will be going on maternity leave. She will be missed and will be an active participant in the interview and onboarding process, helping ensure a smooth transition. 

What You’ll Do

As VP, People & Culture, you will lead all of our programs and initiatives for the thousands of freelancers, temps, and permanent workers who operate for Testlio around the world. 

Learning & development are fundamental to the Testlio journey and we’re proud to have multiple internal resources and funded L&D programs. You will mentor and lead people and drive the use and impact of L&D initiatives at Testlio. 

Global people operations are pivotal for us. You will lead and drive policies, guidelines, programs, and more, rolling up your sleeves and getting into the deep details of our ongoing quest for operational excellence. 

Per below, you will also be in the flow of impact assurance, constant communication, leadership coaching, and more.

What would your day look like?

  • Directly manage 6 people across L&D, Talent, Engagement, and HR
  • Lead the People & Culture team of 10 people in total  
  • Participate in ELT (Executive Leadership Team) activities, helping guide and navigate the company (corporate strategy, budgeting, financing, etc.) 
  • Help deliver against company KPIs for hiring, productivity, impact, connection, eNPS, learning, and retention
  • Navigate complex HR and compliance decisions and strategies with true global ramifications (noting that Testlio has freelancers working in 150+ countries and full-time people in 40+ countries) 
  • Drive key programs like Remote Work and LionFest, our annual gathering of all full-time permanent people (in October 2024 our company is meeting in Barcelona)
  • Spend 1-1 time with people of all levels in the company, building understanding, trust, relationships, and insights to fuel our culture and programs
  • Communicate continuously in email, Slack, Zoom, SMS, and other channels—with appropriate nuance, joy, clarity, and cross-cultural awareness
  • Build and manage complex operational systems covering the worker journey, experience reviews, job/level/location compensation, benefits, and more

What you need to succeed?

  • 15+ years of HR experience, including positions in high-growth, venture capital-funded, global companies  
  • 3+ years leading all people & culture functions, including recruiting, operations, resources, comp & benefits, and L&D. 
  • A profound passion for great human experiences across cultures, geographies, functions, and levels.
  • A strategic and fluid mind to help lead the business in partnership with the ELT.
  • An approach that matches our human values (e.g. Be Kind and Foster Inclusion) along with our aspirational values (e.g. Give a Damn and Challenge Things).
  • An exceptional set of written and verbal communication skills.
  • A robust systems-thinking approach coupled with an ability to lead complex operational activities.
  • A commitment to a 100% remote approach to work.
  • A strong education and ongoing commitment to learning (e.g. MS/BS in Psychology with additional Organizational Development training).
