Tell us a bit about yourself.

Originally from India, I currently live in Seattle, Washington. I have a very proactive and self-motivated personality and I constantly have a lot going on. This is why I appreciate flexibility, especially since I need to juggle between work and babysitting my two little kids.

What is your educational background?

I am a postgraduate with a Master’s in Computer Science. I love testing, collaboration and leading teams.

I am a firm believer in lifelong learning. There is always something to take away from our daily life activities and other situations which gives us more knowledge than what one could learn from books.

What has your experience been like working as a freelancer for Testlio?

I joined the network as a tester and now I am Test Lead! I love Testlio; it provides the flexibility to work wherever and whenever I wish. More than anything it’s a good experience that provides exposure to trending apps.

What are your testing specialties?

My strengths are regression, functional, UI, Exploratory and API testing.
Whenever I do my work, I feel like I am purchasing the product and verifying its quality from all aspects: how good it is, how it looks and feels, how compatible it is to fit in any location, is its functionality sufficient to my needs, etc.

Why do you Give a Damn about testing?

I always like to shape things to look or work much better.
I love finding bugs and working with various apps. Hence the field of testing has been the right fit for me.

How does Testlio’s pay compare to your market rate?

The pay is about the same as hourly office jobs. If we were to compare it with, say, customer service jobs, the min wage is significantly lower per hour for part-time employment. So, it’s good pay!

What characteristics help you succeed in life?

I take things step by step. Every time I reach a specific goal, I look for another one to achieve which could take me higher and higher. I’m always dreaming big.
If your goal is to reach 10th mile, aim for the 11th mile.

You have small kids – how do you balance testing and personal life?

Being a mother of two, the flexibility that Testlio provides has been a helpful opportunity for us. I am grateful that my experience at Testlio has helped me learn to better manage my time and achieve a healthier work-life balance.

What’s an interesting fact about yourself

I am a lecturer, a television anchor, disc jockey, singer, active volunteer for non-profit organizations, and I write scripts for movie reviews and I do interviews with people in Tollywood (Bengali-language film industry).

I am a proactive and lively personality who enjoys helping others and I like having things under control.

What are some of your favorite apps?

  • Smule – singing app
  • Clockify – app for time management
  • Variis Equinox – for yoga, gym and workout
  • Instagram – to share special activities done by me
  • YouTube – all-in-one entertainment

How would you convince a friend to join Testlio?

I think the best way to convince them is to let them know that Testlio provides good, passive income for folks who have time and are looking for opportunities. I’d also tell them about the high-profile clients and continuous opportunity to learn and grow into having a full-time job but at your own convenience. Testlio helps testers and test leads understand the processes involved and wide range of apps and exposure to the latest technologies by validating apps.
