Social Impact
At Testlio, we’ve always been committed to making a social impact. For years, Testlio has been moved by global events, humanitarian needs, inequalities, and a belief that our values should be lived not only through our team and work, but projected externally to positively impact our communities and the broader world around us.
In 2015, the United Nations ratified 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This signified an urgent call to action for countries and organizations to help in ending poverty and other deprivations hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and environmental concerns.
At Testlio, we are focusing our social impact efforts on five of the 17 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals, and continue to increase various social impact commitments related to them. Our social impact strategy prioritizes direct and deliberate activities, projects, programs, or policies that positively affect people across the world.
Ignite
Now in its third year, Testlio Ignite is a unique program that provides education and resources to people who have faced significant life challenges. Each class, consisting of 10-12 individuals, gains all of the knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to begin a career in software testing.
Members of our team volunteer their time to mentor Ignite participants throughout their ten-week journey with us, and numerous Ignite graduates began their testing careers at Testlio. Ignite is designed to align with the Decent Work & Economic Growth, and Reduced Inequalities U.N. SDGs.
Crisis Aid
Testlio cares about the safety of people around the world. In 2022, ahead of the onset of the War in Ukraine, we implemented a crisis-aid grant program for our employees, contractors, and freelancers in areas impacted by natural disasters, military conflicts, or humanitarian crises. Anyone who works with us affected by a major disaster or other issues can apply for a grant. Our crisis aid program supports the Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions U.N. SDG.
Grant program
To be eligible, you need to have worked with Testlio as a freelancer for at least five hours for each of the last three months and complete a short application.
Donations
In addition to the crisis aid grant program, Testlio supports Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF, and the International Committee of the Red Cross on an ongoing basis.
Sustainability
We are conscious of our responsibility to help protect the Earth. This means both to sustain its environment for our descendants and to rehabilitate previous damage.
We aspire to minimize our environmental impact through the effective use of resources. As a global company that is distributed by design, we became 100% remote in 2023. We meet and work the vast majority of the time digitally. When we meet in person, we offset our air travel by purchasing carbon credits from TerraPass and TravelPerk’s GreenPerk program. Our sustainability efforts support the Climate Action U.N. SDG.

Donations
Testlio has also donated to One Tree Planted to aid in the planting of thousands of trees around the world.
Well-being
Testlio promotes well-being both internally and externally. Our belief is that if funds are earmarked and people are encouraged, everyone who works for us full-time can and should be engaged in pursuits that enhance their health and wellbeing. Our efforts in this area support the Good Health and Wellbeing U.N. SDG.
Well-being stipend
Testlio offers its full-time people a quarterly well-being stipend that can be used for a variety of care, including physical exercise, mindfulness, biometrics, psychology, supplements, and more.
Counseling
Beyond the physical, we also recognize the serious role of mental health in well-being. Testlio has partnered with Siffi to provide and fund optional counseling to full-time staff.
Donations
We support two organizations, the World Federation of Mental Health and the Child Mind Institute, in their efforts to promote mental health globally.
Human Rights
Testlio is invested in providing support to organizations that challenge poverty and racial injustice, advocate for equal treatment in the criminal justice system, and create hope for marginalized individuals and communities. This includes financial commitments to organizations that foster human rights expansion worldwide, relocation assistance to full-time TestLions in response to crises, and more. Our work in this area supports the Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and Reduced Inequalities U.N. SDGs.
Relocation Assistance
In moments of severe humanitarian need, Testlio steps in to help employees and contractors move to safer places, temporarily or permanently.

Testlio supports Amnesty International and the Equal Justice Initiative. These organizations pursue a more just, equitable world of decent work and are aligned with our own values and social impact programs.
