Where are you from?

I am from Mansoura city in Egypt and my native language is Arabic. Fun fact: mansoura means victorious in Arabic.

What is your educational background?

I got my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science nine years ago, and ISTQB certification.

How did you end up testing for Testlio?

In 2012 I was working for a software company in Cairo called ITS but had to leave after I got married since I had to relocate to another city. After the birth of my first child in 2014, I was ready to start working again and I decided to get the ISTQB certification first to give myself an edge. After that, I searched for job opportunities in Cairo but without any luck. I never gave up though and kept on looking for a starting point until I found a “How to be freelancer tester” course in Udemy. This was my first introduction to freelancing and it was great! In this course, the instructor mentioned the Testlio platform, so I immediately took a look and signed up. At the time, there was some type of technical issue so I had to contact support in order to whitelist my account and take the onboarding test. I wasn’t able to get a project invite right away though, so in the meantime, I worked for other testing platforms but they were very stressful. Finally, I got a test cycle invite from Testlio and that was my starting point – I’ve been testing with Testlio ever since.

How does Testlio’s pay compare to your market rate?

Testlio pays very competitive wages compared to my market rate. I’m very satisfied with my monthly income and I feel no need to go out to work.

How do you manage the balance between testing and personal life?

I have no problem managing the balance between testing and my personal life. I usually set up my working preferences on the platform and generally try to accept every test cycle I am sent.  All in all, testing for Testlio gives me a flexible schedule as I can work from anywhere, even when traveling.

What motivates you professionally?

My family is my main motivation. My boys and husband inspire me to always do my best.

What do you like to do for fun?

I’ve always loved to explore new innovative apps that make our everyday lives easier and more convenient. Reading about brand new phones and tech inventions is my favorite daily activity.

What mobile apps do you use the most?

The app I use daily is Google Calendar – to manage my schedule and remind me about my priorities. Youtube is my favorite platform to get some fun and knowledge.

How would you convince a friend to join Testlio?

If you want to get additional income with a competitive hourly rate, flexible working hours, the best testing community (Testers, Test Leads, QA PMs, etc.) and learn something new – Testlio is the best place.
