Testing with Purpose at EuroStar 2023

Being a QA professional is not a glamorous job. Despite their critical role in ensuring software quality and reliability, their work often goes unnoticed and underappreciated outside the scope of the testing community.

Kristel Kruustük created Testlio to address these challenges faced by testers, including bug-based pay, isolation, and lack of learning opportunities. While creating Testlio’s tester-first, global, networked approach to software testing, she watched, studied, and listened to hundreds of software testers worldwide and realized that stories, values, and kindness could be transformational and create purpose.

This month, she will give a keynote speech at Eurostar 2023, Europe’s biggest gathering of software testers. The conference will occur in Antwerp, Belgium, from June 13th to June 16th. It will bring together software testing and QA professionals worldwide to share their knowledge, expertise, and experiences.

In her keynote speech, “Testing with Purpose: Stories, Values, and Kindness,” Kristel will draw upon her experiences to demonstrate how values and kindness can help us create purposeful testing. By sharing her real-world insights, Kristel hopes to inspire and uplift attendees to create a work environment where testers’ and development teams’ expectations align, and individuals are seen as a whole, with support, learning opportunities, and outside-work considerations.
