QA needs to fight for the customer experience in the boardroom.

The first thing QA can do to be the guardians of quality is identify and prevent blocks in the release cycle. By clearing blocks for other people (and doing so transparently), you can shift the energy of an entire meeting. When organizations see testing as the wind in their sails, QA teams gain credibility (and promotions).

The good news: QA budgets are already on the rise. The QA budgets of large enterprises rose from 18% to 31% during the five-year period ending in 2016 according to the World Quality Report. A better user experience, helped by improved QA, leads to big payoffs, reduced customer churn and more loyal users.
